Ajey-Tamia is an Association of Taxi Drivers in San Bartolomé, Lanzarote which was founded in November 1996.
There are 34 members in the association who all operate in the municipality of San Bartolomé where the town of Playa Honda and Lanzarote airport can be found.
Within the municipality there are a total of 69 taxis working, all of whom have signed an agreement about the taxi service.
San Bartolomé has 5 taxi ranks to be found at different locations of the municipality:
Airport ( Terminals 1 and 2)
Deiland Shopping Centre ( Playa Honda)
Calle Mayor ( Playa Honda)
Aveniu Alcalde Antonio Cabrera ( San Bartolomé)
Ajey Tamia also has a radio-taxi service in the municipality for direct requests for both long and short distance transfers. It has also made agreements with other taxi driver associations on the island about the taxi service which means that there are over 400 taxis available on the island.
The main aim of this association is to fully represent its members, help with management and if need be, provide defence. as well as promoting profesional common interests. The members are profesional businessmen dedicated to serving the general public through a taxi service.
This group of taxi drivers have a premises which can be found in the village of San Bartolomé and which is used as the general headquarters of the association for organisational and management purposes.
It also has an information office and consumer’s office, both found in arrivals in terminal 1 in Lanzarote airport.
We have a wide variety of vehicles at your disposition : Mercedes, Volkswagen, Opel, Skoda, Peugeot, etc. We also offer different models : estate cars, family cars or cars adapted for handicapped people.
NOTE : Our taxi service is available for transfers from the airport, port or a hotel ( one way or return ) or for any excursion in Lanzarote. A taxi can be pre-booked on our web page as long as a minimum of 24 hours notice is given.
